You guys, this movie was fucking weird.  And not even in that endearing, quirky kinda way, but more like the "wow, is the driving plot an incestuous one??" way.

Don't you just love going into a movie blind and coming out really enjoying it?  Grand Piano did that for me when I saw it was freshly added to Shudder's streaming site; I guess seeing that the leading names were Elijah Wood and John Cusack didn't make me turn away either.  Definitely not a horror film, but a good exercise in suspense, this one fell under my radar for far too long!

Now I won't lie, I wasn't particularly interested in seeing this documentary mostly because I really disliked his previous project, The Nightmare, and only half remember enjoying Room 237 (because conspiracy theories, duh)- which is probably why I didn't rush to see Primal Screen when it was released on Shudder.
