Fender Bender (2016)

Running Time: 1hr 31min
Release Date: May 23, 2016
Directed/Written by: Mark Pavia

Review by: Stacey

The slasher movies of the 80's seem to hold a special place in the hearts of the majority of us in the horror community, but at the same time we tend to side-eye anything that comes out nowadays that even resembles a slasher.  Mostly because anything done now that follows the slasher formula ends up feeling tired and also because it's hard to create an iconic villain with the likes of Freddy or Michael (that's not to say there aren't a couple out there that are up to par, but it's usually few and far between).

#Horror (2015)

Running Time: 1hr 41min
Release Date: November 20, 2015
Review by: Stacey

I don't think I've been this irrationally annoyed by a movie in a while.  Maybe it's because it lacked a story with substance.  Maybe it was because it took too goddamn long before anything happened.  And maybe it's just because I'm an old fart who shouldn't enjoy a movie that is clearly geared towards 15 year olds who hashtag everything.

New Year's Evil (1980)

Running Time: 90 minutes
Release Date: December 26, 1980
Review by: Stacey

"Don't dare make New Year's resolutions...unless you plan to live!" A tagline I can get behind!  New Year's resolutions are for the birds, anyway.  Instead of telling yourself that you're going to start working out more or hating people less (that's going to be a hard one for me), why not ring in the new year by escaping a crazed killer calling himself "Evil"!?

Horror Huddle with Stacey-Beth & Ash: #TBT with Tales of Halloween and Thanksgiving horror!

I know, I know, it's only Monday but if I waited until Thursday to post these videos that have been collecting dust, Ash would have my head on a stick.

That being said, this is going to be a two-fer.  Exciting, I know!
For our Tales of Halloween episode we have Demonika Devour back on and it's a loooonnnng one (55:22)!

If that's too long for you (you should really still watch bc you love us), check out our ep on Thanksgiving-related flicks, Thankskilling and 1987's Blood Rage.  This time around Ash and I finally get together in person and not only manage to keep our babbling limited to 20 min, but we also crafted a stupid turkey hat for me to wear.  That warrants a pity watch at least, right??

Enjoy and leave some feedback!

Pieces (1982)

Running Time: 89 minutes
Release Date: September 23, 1983 (US)
Review by: Stacey

I swear, this movie has been in my Hulu queue for the last 6 months and have heard countless times from many folks how much of a classic it is, and yet, I still had NO idea what the plot was before I went into it.  I mean, judging by the two taglines on the cover, do I really need to know anything more?  Honestly, I'm still not sure what I saw, but I do know that it was hilarious.

Chromeskull: Laid to Rest 2 (2011)

Running Time: 93 minutes
Release Date: September 20, 2011
Review by: Stacey

Damn my need for completion, especially when it comes to movies.  Because of that I had to watch the sequel to Laid to Rest (click link for review), Chromeskull: Laid to Rest 2.  While I actually ended up enjoying the first film, I can't say the same for this one.  This one will definitely be going in a pile, but it won't be the "purgatory" pile.

Laid To Rest (2009)

Running Time: 90 minutes
Release Date: March 18, 2009
Review by: Stacey

You know those movies that aren't good, but they also aren't quite bad?  Those movies that you can't stop watching but you can't wait until it's over.  I call those "purgatory" movies.  I've been meaning to watch Laid To Rest for several years and now that I've finally gotten around to it, I can add another one to my "purgatory" movie list.

Killer Mermaid (2014)

Running Time: 94 minutes
Release Date: May 1, 2014 (Serbia)
Review by: Stacey

Killer Mermaid aka Nymph aka Mamula- whatever the hell you want to call it, clearly SCREAMS SyFy Original.  The title (because Americans needs shit spoon fed to them), the tagline, the cover art...it makes me sad.  Let me just tell y'all right now, don't let the name fool you, the film isn't exactly what you think it is.

The Prowler (1981)

Running Time: 89 minutes
Release Date: November 6, 1981
Review by: Adam

As you can tell, I love horror movies.  What you might not know, I also love war movies, especially those set in World War II.  Now you want to offer me up a slasher-flick involving an antagonist dressed in a combat uniform and early 80’s prog-rock at the dance?  I’m in.  Oh, and it’s directed by Joseph Zito, who did my favorite Friday the 13th (The Final Chapter) AND my favorite Chuck Norris film (Missing in Action), and make-up by Mr. Savini?  Now my only question is WHY HAVEN’T I BEEN WATCHING THIS EVERY YEAR SINCE 1981?

All The Boys Love Mandy Lane (2013)

Running Time: 90 minutes
Release Date: Sep. 9, 2006 (TIFF) and Oct. 11, 2013 (limited US release)
Review by: Stacey

This was one of those rare movies that I actually went into full on cold watch.  I didn't even know what the premise was.  All The Boys Love Mandy Lane, that's basically all I knew.  I was a little hesitant because initially I thought it would be some kind of gross, teenage rape film.  I was way off.
